Medicare has very specific guidelines for the use of Durable Medical Equipment. The Certificate of Medical Necessity training module provides a comprehensive review of those guidelines. Orthofix will file a claim on behalf of the patient. For this reason, Medicare requires that a Certificate of Medical Necessity be completed and signed by the physician. This module will define the Physician's role in completing the required certificate of medical necessity, as well as educate you on best practices and pitfalls to avoid in order to be 100% compliant with Medicare's guidelines.
